Chapter President – Jason Lee Elliott
Jason Lee Elliott is a digital media expert with a passion for game design. He started his career as an all-purpose Artist at Konami, working his way up to the position of Lead Artist on Spawn for the Gameboy Color. Desiring more education, Jason returned to school to study film at the Vancouver Film School, where the short he wrote, directed and produced was selected as a finalist for the BC Film Director Internship Program. Games were never far away from his thoughts and with his new cinematic skills in hand, returned to the industry as a Level and Game Designer at Radical Entertainment. While there, Jason became a proficient scripter, working on several acclaimed titles including Hulk, Hulk Ultimate Destruction and Simpson’s Hit & Run. Since 2005, Jason has been a teacher at the Art Institute of Vancouver and is currently a senior faculty member in the Game Art & Design program. In his spare time, he develops indie games, dabbles in web and graphic design and occasionally blogs at jasonleeelliott.com. He has been helping with the Vancouver chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH since 2008 and often seen handing out the tickets at our events!
Chapter Vice-President – Wendy Lanning
As a producer and production executive, Wendy brings a strong head for business and passion for visual effects to each and every project. Her most recent projects include: The Great Gatsby, Out of the Furnace, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Pt. 1, Immortals, and Sucker Punch. Previously, as one of the original founding partners of Intelligent Creatures in Toronto, she acted as executive producer on over 20 Feature Films. Her credits include: Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, Hairspray, The Number 23, The Fountain, Babel, Stranger Than Fiction, Stay, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and The Matador. Other past experience includes serving as visual effects production manager on Panic Room and as Visual Effects Producer on the Oscar-winning Chicago.
Wendy began her career as an assistant editor in 1995 at one of the top offline houses in North America. She has worked with director Peter Bogdanovich on two MOWs. One of the last commercials she assisted on (Budweiser – Lobster, DDB Needham, Chicago) won a Silver Lion at Cannes.
After spending three years freelancing on the west coast, Wendy moved to Vancouver as Head of Production at Prime Focus and has recently taken the position of Executive Visual Effects Producer at Look Effects and is a member of the Board for both ACM Siggraph’s Vancouver Chapter and Vancouver’s Visual Effects Society.
Treasurer – Tony Tsai
Tony is a Lead Compositing Artist and Senior Lighting Artist at Rainmaker and has been volunteering with Vancouver ACM SIGGRAPH for many years. He can be seen taking the photos at our events.

Secretary – John Rix
John work at the intersection of art, technology and business, weaving them into new approaches, processes and workflows to meet the ongoing demands of challenging productions across Film, Television, Games and the Web.
He has had multiple roles at start-ups and large studios, creating and growing 3D Tool and Rendering Departments, Motion Capture Studios, and Video Post-Production facilities as well as being on the front line of production, earning 20 AAA Game credits along the way.
